A Close-Up Look at Captain America’s Avengers Uniform!

July 25, 2011

Since Joss Whedon‘s The Avengers is slated to release in the Spring of 2012, they are already in the middle of production for the Marvel superhero epic!

This weekend at the San Diego Comic-Con, they had on display the new uniform that will be worn by Captain America himself! It is an updated and modernized version of what we will see in Joe Johnson‘s Captain America: The First Avenger since that film is set in the early 1940s.

Click any of the images below to get a closer look at Cap’s Avengers uniform!

The Avengers: Captain America Helmet with Wings

The Avengers: Captain America Close-Up (Torso)

The Avengers: Captain America Full Avengers Uniform

Personally, I think this is one hell of a costume. It is sleek, modern and yet still represents the classic feel of Captain America with his trademark shield, wings and patriotic colours. I have all the faith in the world in Joss Whedon to pull off this film!

The Avengers is slated to be released May 4th, 2012!! It will feature an all-star cast of Robert Downey Jr (Iron Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (The Kids Are All Right), Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) and Scarlett Johansson (The Prestige).

That’s Right! Captain Planet is Becoming a MOVIE!

July 21, 2011

Yes folks, our fears or perhaps dreams for some has finally come true. Our favourite flying, green mullet planetary eco-hero is currently being scripted to become a live action (to the best of their ability) feature film!

The original cartoon series was created to inform younger viewers about the serious environmental issues in the world. The show was about a group of young people called “The Planeteers” who were granted abilities to control the Earth’s elements and when combined they can summon Captain Planet, an environmental superhero who would battle the world’s eco-villians.

Sadly, this was the type of shows out there during my childhood, thankfully I had Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to keep me on my feet. The film will be produced by producers Don Murphy and Susan Montford, who is best recognized for their work on Michael Bay’s Transformers movies as well as the upcoming giant robot action film, Real Steel. (Yes – quite the resume, I know..)

No word on when or whether this movie is going to come to fruition but as of right now, it’s been given the green light to develop..but for now, and for nostalgic purposes…

Close-Up Look at the New Spiderman!

July 13, 2011

The Amazing Spiderman (2012)

Here’s a nice close-up look at Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) as Spiderman in the upcoming reboot titled, The Amazing Spider-man. We get a good look at the new logo on Spidey’s chest, it’s looking less symmetrical and more stylish which I am perfectly cool with.

The colours are looking a little more fluorescent than we’re used to but I’m sure that it’ll look a better and more normal on screen. I’m looking forward to our first sneak peak!

The Amazing Spider-man is set to be released July 3rd, 2012, so we might see our first teaser in the Fall! The film stars the young talents of Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-man and Emma Stone (Zombieland) as Gwen Stacy. The man behind the camera will be none other than 500 Days of Summer director Marc Webb.

There will surely be more to come!

First The Dark Knight Rises Poster!!

July 12, 2011

The Dark Knight Rises Poster

The first poster for the sequel to Inception mastermind, Christopher Nolan’s sequel to The Dark Knight is out! I’m not going to lie, but the poster reminds me of Inception with all the buildings but it will definitely be another fine addition to Nolan’s list of films!

Nolan loves to work with familiar people which is why you will recognize the cast of The Dark Knight Rises. Christian Bale (The Prestige) will reprise his role as Batman and will be supported by fellow Inception cast members, Joseph Gordon-Levitt (500 Days of Summer), Marion Cotillard (Midnight in Paris) and Tom Hardy (Layer Cake). You will also see Anne Hathaway (Rachel Getting Married) in the sequel, portraying Catwoman.

The Dark Knight Rises is set to be released on July 22nd of 2012! and word on the grapevine is that we can expect to see a teaser trailer in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2! If that’s not a good enough reason to hit the theatres, what is??

“Zero” is Creepy, Strange and Very Special.

July 5, 2011

Tim Burton (A Nightmare Before Christmas) and Henry Selick (Coraline) may be the household names of the stop-motion world but husband and wife duo, Christopher and Christine Keseloz demonstrates that a wonderful story, the capabilities…and two years of their life, they can come up with something equally as special.

The short takes place in a world where people are born into a numerical class. We follow an individual who is born with a “0” on his chest and we are taken through the struggles he faces throughout his life.

Third Time’s the Charm? Transformers 3: Dark Side of the Moon releases TODAY!

June 29, 2011

After an awful sequel, will Michael Bay redeem himself with his third (and hopefully final) installment of the Transformers series?

With the massive failure that was Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen in 2009, Michael Bay put blame on the writers strike for one of the major reasons for the craptastic film that was put out, even Sam Witwicky himself said that it was junk. In an interview, Shia LaBeouf actually said that “Transformers 2 stunk”.

Well, now with a major personnel change in replacing the lead babe Megan Fox with Victoria Secret model, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as Sam’s lead and with an addition of a robot takeover of Earth, Michael Bay hopes to bounce back with Transformers 3: Dark Side of the Moon.

With that said, the big question is..WILL YOU STILL WATCH??

Daniel Day Lewis casted to play Abraham Lincoln

November 23, 2010

Daniel Day Lewis cast as Abraham Lincoln

Steven Spielberg’s biopic on America’s 16th President has finally found their Abraham Lincoln in Academy Award winning actor, Daniel Day Lewis (Gangs of New York). This film has been in the works since Spielberg signed on to direct in 2001, and was pretty much considered a myth at this point, but here’s some great news! Who doesn’t like progress? Up until this past summer, Liam Neeson (Taken) was considered the for the bearded role but he pulled out due to it’s continuous delays.

The film will focus on Abraham Lincoln’s presidency and their fight for abolition and the Civil war between 1861-1865. The screenplay will be based on the book “Team of Rivals” by Doris Kearns Goodwin. Now that the mythical “Lincoln” has their star in Daniel Day Lewis, I fully expect something amazing from the film. But seriously, Spielberg and Daniel Day Lewis? They will not disappoint, they seldom do. The film is set to come out sometime in 2013, still a ways away but its a tentative date none the less!

All I have to say to this news is, “One Please” and “See you at the Oscars!”
