Henry Cavill as Superman in Man of Steel (2013) - CLICK TO ENLARGE

We finally have our first look at our new Superman in Man of Steel played by Henry Cavill!

After the critical and commercial bust of Bryan Singer’s Superman Returns in 2006, a reboot was quickly suggested. Man of Steel will be produced by Christopher Nolan (Inception), written by David Goyer (The Dark Knight) and directed by Zack Snyder (300). This all-star group will surely redeem the Superman legacy and bring us another comic book film that can meet The Dark Knight gold standard!

Man of Steel is planned to be released June 14th, 2013 and will star Henry Cavill (The Tudors) as Superman and Amy Adams (The Fighter) as Lois Lane. The film also features a stellar supporting cast including Russel Crowe (Gladiator), Diane Lane (The Perfect Storm), Kevin Costner (The Untouchables) and Michael Shannon (Boardwalk Empire)

First The Dark Knight Rises Poster!!

July 12, 2011

The Dark Knight Rises Poster

The first poster for the sequel to Inception mastermind, Christopher Nolan’s sequel to The Dark Knight is out! I’m not going to lie, but the poster reminds me of Inception with all the buildings but it will definitely be another fine addition to Nolan’s list of films!

Nolan loves to work with familiar people which is why you will recognize the cast of The Dark Knight Rises. Christian Bale (The Prestige) will reprise his role as Batman and will be supported by fellow Inception cast members, Joseph Gordon-Levitt (500 Days of Summer), Marion Cotillard (Midnight in Paris) and Tom Hardy (Layer Cake). You will also see Anne Hathaway (Rachel Getting Married) in the sequel, portraying Catwoman.

The Dark Knight Rises is set to be released on July 22nd of 2012! and word on the grapevine is that we can expect to see a teaser trailer in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2! If that’s not a good enough reason to hit the theatres, what is??

Nolan’s Inception is utter cinematic brilliance. Experiencing it should be a requirement in life.

July 21, 2010

As I sat in my theatre seat eagerly awaiting the film to start, I couldn’t help but wonder how Chris Nolan could like many have said, could possibly top The Dark Knight with his new film. It is as if he knows exactly what is needed to consume the audiences and simply blow their minds. Inception has no shortage of these moments.

Easily one of the most anticipated films of the year, Nolan takes filmgoers on a surreal rollercoaster ride with enough complexities to push our minds to create an incredible thought provoking film going experience. The premise of subconscious and malleable realities are in no means original, these intriguing elements can be found in films like Vanilla Sky, Dark City and of course, The Matrix. It is however, the style in which these elements are presented that puts Inception in a league of its own.

In my opinion, Inception is a film where you must go experience it in IMAX or bust. The visual effects are just so astonishing that some sequences will leave you in awe with your mouths open (it most certainly happened to me upon my first…of likely multiple screenings). Regardless of how surreal the dreams sequences may impossibility of the concept of multiple people sharing a dream space and access other people’s minds. The performances by the entire ensemble cast are very strong throughout. The Ocean’s Eleven of subconscious data thieves consist of Leonardo DiCaprio (The Departed), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (500 Days of Summer), Tom Hardy (RocknRolla) and Canadian, Ellen Page (Juno). They’re performances enable the audiences to stay captivated by the premise as a result of inspiring performances lead by the ultra talented and diverse, Leonardo DiCaprio.

Christopher Nolan wrote, produced as well as directed this masterpiece, adding to an already critically acclaimed list of films such as Memento, The Prestige and The Dark Knight. He is truly a visionary in the industry and can do no wrong when granted the unlimited freedom with his films.

As crazy as it may sound, but Inception is his greatest piece of work yet. It is a film that all MUST experience, so if you have yet to watch it, be sure to. It will be a very serious contender for Best Picture, if not the frontrunner when the time comes. Quote ME!
